We are a women-owned and run organization committed to supporting children’s development through fine and gross motor skill strengthening, socialization, executive functioning, and cooperative, play-based learning experiences—helping children build skills while having fun.

Jillian is the co-founder of The Fine Motor Promoters and brings over 20 years of experience working with children and families. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology followed by a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. Throughout her career, Jillian has worked in a wide variety of settings with individuals across the lifespan, giving her a well-rounded understanding of child development, learning styles, and functional skill building. For more than two decades, Jillian has proudly served in a Westchester County school district, where she has supported students in developing the skills needed for success in the classroom and everyday life. Her passion lies in helping children strengthen fine motor skills, build confidence, and reach their full potential through engaging, purposeful activities. In addition to her professional work, Jillian is actively involved in her community. She serves on the East Fishkill Softball Board and spends her summers working at Camp Hillcroft, where she continues to support and inspire children in fun, active environments. Jillian is also a wife and mother of two children, which further inspires her family-centered approach and understanding of the importance of creating supportive, meaningful experiences for children to grow and thrive.

The Fine Motor Promoters offer engaging, play-based child development classes designed and led by 2 experienced pediatric occupational therapy professionals. Classes are held on Saturday morning at The Goddard School in Wappingers Falls, NY.
Our classes support children in building foundational skills through thoughtfully structured activities that promote fine and gross motor development, social interaction, executive functioning, and cooperative play.
Each class incorporates hands-on tasks such as crafts, movement-based games, sensory exploration, and problem-solving challenges to strengthen hand skills, coordination, body awareness, attention, and self-regulation. Children are encouraged to explore at their own pace while being supported to develop confidence, independence, and joy in learning.
Our small-group setting allows for individualized support within a fun, nurturing environment. Through purposeful play, The Fine Motor Promoters help children build the skills they need to thrive at home, in school, and beyond.
